They don't give a damn! No, they do!!!

Colin Fyfe – CEO of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society; Campbell McLean – Sales Director at Sales Geek and Marc Rowley – MD of H.I.T Leadership and the charity’s Trustee; all dressed up as pantomime Dames and completed their Friday duties in costume, raising crucial funds and awareness about The Bridge as well as bringing a lot of laughter to their workplaces.

Dame Colin went above and beyond raising a stunning £2,581. He was busy all day, carried out his meetings, visiting Hinckley town centre, speaking to colleagues on their monthly catch up and completing some additional tasks like giving us all his best rendition of ‘I am what I am’ after being challenged by a very generous donor.

Colin Fyfe said: “It’s been a memorable day for me, and although I may revert to my norm

al attire next week, I have thoroughly enjoyed it – the look on people’s faces has been priceless. I am so grateful for all the donations I have received which I know will be put to great use by The Bridge (East Midlands), thank you to everyone for your support.”

Dame Marc showcased what resilience is by delivering a workshop on Mental Resilience in his costume. One of the workshop participants, Kris Sanders, commented: “It was

slightly shocking when he walked in, it took a few seconds for my brain to distinguish what was happening but here is a man that is the living embodiment of resilience!”

Dame Campbell not only entertained the fellow members of his business networking group by serving teas and coffees at their breakfast meeting, he also took a trip to Santa’s Grotto at Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre, Leicester. What a treat to see him together with Santa!

Together our Dames smashed their £4k target! If we include the Gift Aid the total raised is equivalent to 142 people on the brink of homelessness given the opportunity to attend an hour-long specialist Housing Advice session which can lead to preventing homelessness.

Sue Langley, CEO of The Bridge East Midlands, said: “Despite the darkness of the cost-of-living crisis affecting our clients in such a significant way, we wanted to spread some cheer this Winter. We focused on what’s kind, positive, impactful, and fun!

It will never stop amazing me how supportive our local community is. The efforts of our Dames have been wonderful. Our heartfelt thank you for bringing so muc

h fun to fundraising and making such a difference!”

The three businessmen competed for The Bridge’s Dame 2022 title which goes to Colin Fyfe for his outstanding fundraising result and putting on a full show of singing and entertainment. Congratulations, Colin.
