Donating Food

We are often asked about the kind of items that are preferable when donating food. So here is a handy list of tips:

Always donate non-perishable goods – no fresh food or baked goods
Thinking of meals rather than items is always encouraged
Some client have access to cooking equipment so pasta and rice is great, whereas others don’t in which instant cooks are preferable. We will always ask before we hand a parcel out.
Variety is key!

Examples of food:

Tinned meat: salmon, ham, tuna, pie, chilli, corned beef, hot dogs
Tinned vegetables: peas, carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, beans, corn, tomatoes
Carbs: rice, pasta, noodles, instant cooks
Other: cooking sauces, tinned puddings, dry snacks

0.6% of our income is spent on income generation and governance meaning 99% goes back into service delivery and helping our clients.

With several funding streams becoming increasingly restrictive, we need the support of the community to help us achieve our mission.

From April 2021- March 2022, we dealt with 5703 referrals into our services, working to prevent and overcome their homelessness.

The need for emergency food and fuel provision is growing. The cost-of-living crisis is impacting everybody, but it is having a devastating impact on society's most vulnerable.

Homeless and vulnerably housed people are one of the most overlooked and disadvantaged groups’ of people within society and need the support of charities, and their local communities as a result.

Help us help the homeless, and fundraise!

Fundraising can be as big or small as you want it to be, it feels good, and it is always fun. There are many ways in which you can raise money from big charity parties to bake sales, here are just a few ideas:
