What is a Trustee?
Being a Trustee means you have one of the most important and exciting roles within a charity.
Trustees have specific duties which are set out in our organisation’s governing document. The company directors of a charitable company are also its charity Trustees. Trustees must act collectively to govern the charity and take decisions.
With the Chief Officer and Executive Team, you will help set the strategic direction of the organisation and are ultimately responsible for ensuring it achieves its aims and objectives. You will be a strong advocate for our mission, vision and values.

What commitment is required?
Being a Trustee is an important role and will require you to dedicate some of your time each year to ensure you get the most out of your term. As a minimum, we would expect
Trustees to attend the following:
- 6 Board meetings per year (including reading the papers in preparation for the meeting)
- 1 Strategic Away Day per year
- Up to 6 sub-committee meetings per year (dependent upon whether you choose to take a specialist role on our Board)

Once you have read the application pack and wish to proceed, please complete the short application form and email it, along with your CV, to: HR@thebridge-eastmidlands.org.uk
The Chief Officer and two Trustees will review your application, and you will be invited to an informal interview at a mutually agreeable time. If the interview is successful, you will be invited to our Board meeting on 18th September 2019 so you can meet the other Trustees. If after this meeting you still wish to become a Trustee, you will be nominated at our AGM on 20th November 2019.
