talk2sort Mediation

What is it?

The talk²sort mediation service works with young people aged 11-19 and families who may be having problems at home or with their relationships. We support people to look at ways of resolving conflict, often working with issues such as arguments, breakdowns in communication and relationships, difficult emotions, mental health problems and concerns around substance misuse.

Mediation can, at times, be a difficult process. However, it can prove to be extremely successful in improving home life and relationships. Mediation is a future focused process which looks at how to move things forward and is not about focusing on what had happened in the past. It can prove to be extremely successful in improving home life and relationships.

Rebecca's Story

What can we help with?

We support young people and families to reduce the likelihood that a young person will face homelessness in both the immediate and distant future. We believe that resolving conflict can have huge benefits on individuals’ mental health and well being, leading to a more positive future. Often, this involves working through a number of issues which may include:

Mediation is a free, voluntary, impartial, non-judgemental and confidential service. We help people by listening to how they are feeling now, what they feel the issues or problems are and how they would like things to be moving forward.  We then support individuals to decide what changes they will make in order to achieve a positive outcome.  We can support individuals for as long as required; as long as there are things which they would like to achieve that they need support through mediation with.
