Support Services

What is it?

The Vulnerable Person’s Resettlement Scheme (VPRS) is a cross parliamentary programme between the Home Office, the Department for International Development and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. The VPRS assists families who have been displaced from their home country and who have been offered resettlement under Humanitarian Protection.

Charnwood Borough Council are coordinating the VPRS for Leicestershire and Rutland County Council and have commissioned The Bridge to deliver the support element of the families’ resettlement programme.

How do we help?

The Bridge provides a dedicated Resettlement Worker for up to a year to provide the support element of the scheme. After the first year, families are able to access support on an individual needs basis. The Resettlement Worker supports families to settle into their new home and integrate into their new community, so that they may gain the skills and knowledge needed to manage their home, retain independence and enhance their quality of life.
