Local Charity Partners With New Mental Well-Being Service

A new mental well-being service is now available, featuring a partnership between The Bridge (East Midlands) and service provider Vita Health Group.

Having launched earlier this month, VitaMinds is a free and confidential service available to those over 16, across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Offering support to those suffering from excessive worry, low mood, depression, anxiety or a lack of motivation, OCD, stress and much more, the service works alongside the NHS to provide talking therapy services, known as IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies).

The Bridge is based in Loughborough and, as a Community Support Partner to VitaMinds, hopes to prevent homelessness for local people using the service, as well as to help resolve housing issues that may be negatively effecting service users’ mental health.

Head of Housing Services at The Bridge, Molly Boggis, commented: “We are delighted to partner with VitaMinds, through which we will help to provide intensive support and advice to vulnerable people within our community.

“At The Bridge, we recognise that housing issues are not always resolved with a roof and a bed; suffering homelessness or housing insecurity is extremely stressful and is often intrinsically linked with a person’s mental health.

“For instance, in many cases, homelessness can be caused by a traumatic event that negatively impacts a client’s well-being. For others, mental health can act as a barrier to a more stable future.

“Our services will link closely with the new service, to offer housing advice to VitaMind’s service users who are at risk of crisis, or to refer our existing clients for further mental health support during their journey with us.”

The service is accepting referrals via the VitaMinds website here. Alternatively, you can VitaMinds on 0330 094 5595. Existing clients of The Bridge can discuss the service with the charity on 01509 260500.
