Community Engagement Lead

Permanent

Description

Why work for The Bridge? There are a hundred reasons.

Maybe you’ve known someone suffer without help, or try without success to make positive changes in order to move forward? Join us and you can help change lives.

Everyone at The Bridge has heaps of energy and positivity, and we are lucky to say we start every day knowing we can make a difference to local people. We are a small charity, but we’re also a close-knit family that’s organised, focussed and driven.

There are loads of great benefits to working for The Bridge, such as the extra holiday days or the flexible working. However, these benefits are not why you join in the first place... or why you stay. From day one you’ll receive all the training you need. Here, helping you develop your career and skills is a top priority. We value you, partly because it’s the right thing to do, but also because it really helps you achieve what you came to The Bridge for: changing other people’s lives for the better.

The Community Engagement Lead is a new role, providing a unique opportunity to support the ongoing sustainability of The Bridge during an exciting time of change for the charity. This is an engagement and fundraising position, working with a variety of supporters of the charity’s important work, including developing a team of volunteer ambassadors and fundraisers.

The Community Engagement Lead will work closely with the fundraising team, and wider Senior Leadership Team to develop and deliver the fundraising strategy and will involve developing new and existing community fundraising products, growing the third-party events programme, and attracting small grant and trust fund donations and supporting the growth of corporate partnerships. The role will also support the Communication and Engagement Officer and the Grants and Trusts Fundraiser.

The role requires someone with excellent relationship building skills and substantial previous experience in community engagement and generating unrestricted income. The role necessitates a strong communicator across various platforms (in person and on/offline) who enjoys working collaboratively with others as well as taking ownership in their role. Most importantly, they will be passionate about raising funds to eradicate and prevent future homelessness.

Application Process

If you are interested in applying to this vacancy, please download and complete the Application Form by clicking Apply to the right hand side of the page. The form will include a statement telling us how you meet the requirements of the job role outlined in the person specification, and why you want to work for The Bridge (East Midlands). This is your opportunity to talk about your talents, skills and demonstrable experience, which we will use to shortlist applicants.

Alongside the completion of this form, we would like you to record a short video (up to 2 minutes long) to help us find out a little more about you. We are passionate about our Values, so in your video we would love to hear why you are passionate about working for a charity like The Bridge, in the capacity of Community Engagement Lead.

We care about finding the right people to join our team, and so your video will be graded against our Values; Quality, Respect, Empowerment, Positivity and Partnership. This will be a great chance for you to showcase your personality and your interests!

When you’ve completed your Application Form and video recording, you can email them, along with your CV to HR@thebridge-eastmidlands.org.uk, where applications will then be shortlisted for interview. Interview date is to be confirmed.

We would prefer for you to send us your video recording as a YouTube link. This is very easy and you can do this by setting up an account, uploading your video and saving it as ‘Unlisted’ – which means that only people you send the link to can see your video.

Check out our Top Tips for Filming a Video, to the right of this screen, to make sure you are sending in the best possible representation of yourself!
