What is Housing Matters?

Housing Matters is a partnership of three organisations:-

The partnership will deliver a Homelessness Accommodation and Floating Support Service Funded by Leicesteshire County Council.

 

Housing Matters' Floating Support Service

Who is the service for?

Housing Matters (Floating Support) is for single people, over the age of 18 and living in the County of Leicestershire.  The support service can work with people in any of the following circumstances:-

The service can work with people regardless of whether they live in a council tenancy, a housing association tenancy, a private tenancy or even those who own their own home.

What does the service provide?

We will provide you with a dedicated Housing Support Worker to help you with managing your housing situation.  Support will be focussed on helping you to achieve security and independence in your home.  Our Housing Support Workers will complete a support plan and agree the amount and length of support they can offer you.  We will keep in touch with you through home visits, phone contact, drop ins and group work.

How do you access Floating Support?

For short-term support you can access our drop in sessions across the county.  Please call 0300 561 0001 for an up to date list of venues and times.  If you require frequent housing support sessions you will need to be referred by a professional you are working with.  A Housing Matters referral can be requested by calling 0300 561 0001 or by clicking the link below.

Housing Matters' Accommodation Service

Who is the service for?

Housing Matters (Supported Accommodation) is for single people, over the age of 18, who are homeless or at risk of homelessness with a local connection to Leicestershire.  Accommodation is offered with a Licence Agreement and Support Agreement.  You will need to work with our staff on your Support and Action Plan whilst living at The Falcon Centre.

What does the service provide?

The Falcon Centre provides quick access emergency accommodation.  We are based in Loughborough town centre, within easy access of good transport links, with strong community connections and close to local amenities.  Our facilities consist of an en-suite bedroom and communal lounge/dining area with catered breakfast and evening meal.  A personal charge is payable to cover the cost of food, light, heating and water.

Accommodation is based on a short term stay of 3 - 9 months.  We have a dedicated staff team on site 24/7, with a Support Worker allocated to each individual resident to provide regular, high quality, person centred support.  We help you to identify and review your needs to create a tailor made Support and Action Plan so you can develop the skills necessary to gain permanent accommodation.
